The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) intends to hold the 79th Golden Globe Awards, Deadline writes about this, citing its own sources. After a scandal, HFPA has updated the composition of the organization and the code of the association – the organizers of the award have already sent letters to film studios with requirements for the nominees. Other details of the event and its format are not yet known – most likely, the award will not be televised, since NBC is boycotting the event.
We will remind, in February, the Los Angeles Times published an investigation, accusing the HFPA of corruption and discrimination. In particular, no African Americans were represented on the eighty-seven Golden Globe jury. After that, many stars turned down the awards, and NBC refused to broadcast the award – Netflix, Amazon and WarnerMedia also joined the boycott. Read more about the Golden Globe scandal here.
