I was inspired by the NARS L’Amour, Toujours L’Amour Eyeshadow Palette. I talked about it in a separate post, which you can read here.
To apply gray eye shadow beautifully, you will need makeup brushes. If you rely on the applicators that come with the pallet kits, then use them for other purposes. For which ones, you will learn from the article “Applicator for shadows: was it possible?”.
You will need at least two brushes: flat and fluffy. The first is for working with a movable eyelid, and the second for a fixed part.
Pay attention to the borders I paint the shadows up to. I usually do not go beyond the crease of the eyelid as it is for softer and lighter shades of eyeshadow. They are responsible for the haze, not pearlescent textures. Many are confused about their purpose, which is why they do not know how to beautifully apply gray shadows.
Remember: pearlescent shadows are about the moving part of the eyelid, and matte shadows are about the fixed one. Everything is very simple! Why so, and not vice versa. Because pearlescent shadows tend to accentuate the texture of the skin. And if you apply them in the crease of the eyelid, then do not be surprised at the effect of wrinkled skin.
In makeup, I used as many shades as possible in order to control the quality of each color. But if you see 7 shades here – I doubt it … For this reason, I find the NARS L’Amour, Toujours L’Amour Eyeshadow Palette monotonous.
The shades blend smoothly into each other thanks to my sequence of actions. I carefully “stacked” one color after another, which allowed me to avoid messy and uneven colors.
Therefore, be careful when purchasing palettes like NARS L’Amour, Toujours L’Amour Eyeshadow Palette.
I hope I answered your request and now you know how to apply gray shadows in a way that looks beautiful. And if you still have questions, ask in the comments!
